These archival performances are footprints, formed through my encounters with natural landscapes and with others. Made across years of migration between continents, the works use performance as a way to respond, translate, embody, and send messages of learning how to belong. They were created before I had language for “performance” as a form, emerging from an urgency to communicate what my studio practice could not, bypassing text and objects in order to be with others bodily and in real time.
